Currently Seeking Tour Guides!

Currently, we are looking for Tour Guides to work at least the spring and summer seasons of 2012!

Employment

We will consider anyone that has at least started their freshman year at a university as a potential Candidate for employment. Candidates must also have an exceptional personality, superb speaking skills, the ability to quickly adapt to changing situations, an interest in travel, high integrity and a large smile. As a tour guide, you will be asked to learn the ins and outs of our nation’s capital and its history, and will be responsible for relaying it to our guests in a fun and unique way. We need staff members who are dedicated to delivering the best customer service possible. 

Below is a brief description of needs for guide staff:

Guide Staff

• Lead both Day and Night tours (minimum of seven tours/week... two on the weekend)
• Work around holidays (not necessarily on the holiday itself, but on the days surrounding)
• Ensure the safety and enjoyment of each customer
• Help with pre-tour setup
• Help with post-tour operations
• Basic Equipment Repair
• Attend team meetings

• You love working with and meeting new people everyday
• You enjoy history and sightseeing
• You have a outgoing personality coupled with a strong speaking voice
• You have a DC Tour Guide’s License (not required to be hired, but required for continued employment)
• You have tour guiding experience (again, not required; but preferable)
• You can speak a foreign language (again, not required; but preferable)
• You consider yourself timely and responsible

Interview Process

Once you apply, your application will be reviewed and you may be called in for an interview. Your first interview will be a basic sit down or phone interview to review your qualifications. It may be followed by a second interview where you'll be asked to relay some information about the sites to the manager in order to determine whether your 'tour personality' is a good fit.
