Capital City Bike Tours is ready to roll this fall and winter! During December, January, and February though, we'll be running a special winter bike tour at 1:30pm everyday. This tour will see many of the same sites as the Capital City Tour, except add stops to the Martin Luther King Memorial as well as a very special stop to the National Gallery of Art Pavilion Cafe. There we'll take a rest inside with a warm drink and a snack. Once warm, we'll rejoing the bikes and see the rest of the city. It is undoubetedly the perfect way to cure cabin fever this week! After guiding hundreds of thousands of bike tourists through European cities since 1999 with our sister, Fat Tire Bike Tours, not to mention the thousands we have ushered through the Capital City via Segway, we've become the experts and we're excited to show you DC soon.

Your Experience

We offer you a wonderful pedal through the heart of Washington, DC to see the city’s most famous and magnificent sites. Our bicycle tours are not the least bit strenuous and all ages are welcome. By bicycle, we will bring you closer to more sights in less time than any other tour in the city. Come and have some fun on a smooth-riding cruiser bike with the bike tour specialists.

Our tours stop often for information and photo opportunities. We pride ourselves on being family friendly, in terms of tour material and bicycles. We have baby seats, kid’s and youth bikes, a children’s tandem bike (and children’s helmets). Reservations are not required for our tours. However, if you have children, advance reservations are suggested so that we may reserve the appropriate bike for them. Our tours run seven days a week (rain or shine). Rain ponchos are available in inclement weather.

As well as being an environmentally friendly way to visit DC, a Capital City Bike Tour is a great way to get out, be active, and experience DC in any season. Come see for yourself!

Safety

Safety is always a priority and that’s why our bicycle tours follow bike lanes and park paths virtually the entire time. Our route maximizes the bike paths/cycle lanes through Washington, DC and the National Mall. The pace is not strenuous, we stop often, but some bicycle proficiency is required from all participants.
